TradesSync documentation
TradesSync copies your ServiceM8 work into GoHighLevel automatically. Your clients become contacts, your job cards become opportunities, and your pipeline keeps itself up to date while you get on with the job.
What it actually does
ServiceM8 is where the work happens. GoHighLevel is where the marketing happens. Most trades end up typing the same customer into both, or stitching the two together with Zapier and hoping the task limit holds out.
TradesSync connects them directly. It checks ServiceM8 every five minutes and brings anything new or changed straight across:
| In ServiceM8 | Becomes in GoHighLevel |
|---|---|
| Client | Contact, with their details kept current |
| Job card | Opportunity, sitting at the right pipeline stage — optional |
| Job status, queue or category | The stage that opportunity sits at |
| Job status, badges, queues and categories | Tags your workflows can trigger from |
| Quotes, invoices, materials, notes | Fields on the contact or opportunity |
Nothing in your ServiceM8 account is edited, moved or deleted by the sync. There is exactly one optional exception, described in Leads into ServiceM8, and it is switched off unless you turn it on yourself.
Two ways to use it
Not everyone wants a pipeline, so TradesSync works two ways and you pick when you set up.
| Contacts and tags | Full pipeline | |
|---|---|---|
| You get | Clients as contacts, tagged by the status of their job | All of that, plus jobs as opportunities moving through your pipeline |
| Setup | About five minutes, nothing to change in GoHighLevel | About twenty minutes, and one GoHighLevel setting |
| Suits | Running your marketing on workflows and email | Already using a pipeline, or wanting job values and forecasting there |
New accounts start on contacts and tags, with opportunities switched off. You can change your mind at any time without losing anything.
You do not have to work out which settings each one needs. Once both accounts are connected, a Setup Wizard appears in the menu, asks which of the two you want, and configures it for you. For contacts and tags that is the entire setup.
Start here
If you are setting up for the first time, work through these in order. Setup takes about ten minutes and you only do it once.
- Getting started — connect both accounts, then let the Setup Wizard do the rest
- What syncs — exactly what comes across, and what does not
- Pipeline stages — status, queue or category, and how to pick
Once it is running
- Field mapping — send any ServiceM8 field anywhere on a contact or opportunity
- Tags — why queue tags replace each other and badge tags add up
- If/then rules — decisions rather than straight copies
- Reading the sync log — what every entry tells you, and what to do when one fails
- Common setups — how to arrange things for what you are actually trying to get out of it
- Troubleshooting — when something does not look right
What you need
- A ServiceM8 account you can create a full-access API key on
- A GoHighLevel location, and permission to create a private integration in it
- About ten minutes
No technical knowledge beyond copying two keys across. The Setup Wizard handles the rest, and nothing you do in it can change anything in ServiceM8.
TradesSync is £37 a month per ServiceM8 account, with no task counting and no per-record charges. There is a 14-day free trial and no card is needed to start it.
